Just One Acre

One of the goals of urban farming is maximizing the land that is available. In the city, that is not a lot. The cities we work in, Atlanta and Seattle, are better than most, though. So how do we maximize the land that is available? How do we make the world a healthier more sustainable place in the presence of all this asphalt?
Atlanta has suffers from a heat island effect. Essentially, there is so much pavement that the
city creates its own weather.

The Life Co-operative wants to highlight sustainable, affordable innovations in urban "greening". We are reaching out to various organizations who want to commit to a display.
The display must...
-Fit within an allotted "footprint" of 90 sq. ft., 180 sq. ft., or 360 sq. ft.
-Be educational and accompanied by a sustainability document that outlines the project.
-Be mobile. Installations will have to be in place for a minimum of 48 hours and be able to be removed.
-Project is open to for profit and non-profit organizations, with discounts available for non-profit organizations.
This is an opportunity for organizations all over the Atlanta and the south to come together and make a difference in our communities.
