The Fall Harvest,in the New Permaculture our cash crop is knowledge

This morning when we got to the garden, we could see our breath for the first time and we were not instantly attacked by bugs  Not instantly, anyway..  It took them a little time to wake up and find us.
We are preparing to put the garden to bed for a little while.  Herbs and leafy veggies are still doing ok, but for the most part, the tomatoes are done and they are the last to go.
So we look at the results of this season and what we are taking from it.  We had a couple of watermelons and a ton of tomatoes.  Onions, beets, lots of basil, peas, and beans.  We were able to make quite a few good meals.
Still, as we knew, this was going to be a growing year and our biggest crop was always going to be knowledge.  At the beginning of the garden year, March of this year, we partnered with a little school, just outside of Atlanta where we built a garden. Children from the third grade class were able to join us on Thursdays and on the weekends if they wanted.
We were able to challenge the children to do things like find things in their own kitchens that they could re grow, like onion bottoms, celery and even a pineapple.
The first phase of growing is rarely a huge success.  Still if we look at the changing of the seasons not as an end but just a change.
The next phase of the garden is sitting with the kids and assessing the passes and fails.
We are going to teach them how to save seeds.
We are going to teach them what happens to the garden over the winter...how to compost ...how greenhouses work and more.
This morning, we sat and popped the last of the cherry roma tomatoes into our mouths and looked towards the future.  Every so often, we see a meme floating around that says if you think that kids should learn to grow food...
Well, we think that kids should learn to grow food and we are going to make sure that happens.
We hope that you will help!

  1. “I could not have closed on my first home without Mr, Benjamin Lee ! Benjamin and his team went above and beyond for me on this transaction. He handled my very tight turn around time with ease and was always available for me when I had questions (and I had plenty), even when he was away from the office, which I greatly appreciated! He and his team handled many last-minute scrambles with the seller and worked tirelessly to make sure that I could close before my lease (and my down payment assistance, for that matter) expired. Mr Benjamin is incredibly knowledgeable Loan Officer, courteous, and patient. I went through a couple offers on properties before my final purchase and Benjamin was there to help with each one, often coordinating with my agent behind the scenes. I felt supported throughout the entire process. Thanks to Benjamin and the tireless efforts of his team, I am now a proud home owner! I would encourage you to consider Benjamin Briel Lee for any kind of loan.Mr, Benjamin Lee Contact informaions.via WhatsApp +1-989-394-3740  Email- lfdsloans@outlook.com.
