Composting 101: compost sign up.

We are starting composting sign ups for the spring and summer in the Decatur, GA area.  This entire project has been an exploration of what we can do within a community; ways we can build.

Enrollment for the spring and summer is $5.00 month and a $10.00 deposit.  The process is simple.  Once signed up, we bring you a bucket.  You spend the week filling that bucket with compostable materials as you are preparing meals, or whatever.  Each week, on a specified day, someone will come to your home, and get that material.

Good in the community...
We will take that material, manage its break down.  Finished compost goes to you, if you want, but also to local farms and gardens, including the Veteran's Garden.
The collection will be managed by youth in the area over the summer.  Your monthly fee goes to them and to provide "summer scholarships".
We will also be teaching classes on everything from home composting, to gardening, to healthy food preparation...and more.
