25 tons of compost...

The Greater Decatur Compost Initiative has reached more than 25 tons.
25 tons of matter composted by 207 households, plus four businesses.
Day in, day out over seven months.
Bikes used to collect in buckets rescued from landfill.
30 miles a day.
Day in, day out over seven months.
Uphill, downhill.
Worn brake pads, flat tires.
Day in, day out over seven months.

All of that ground down through heat, moisture, pressure, and time.

As we set our sights on the next 25 tons, we are taking a moment to consider the fact that it  took less time to go from 10 tons to 25 and will take even less than that to go from 25 to 50.

We are seeing sites all over the greater Decatur area that will be just a little greener.
If you would like to subscribe to compost with us, feel free to send us an email at thelifecooperative@gmail.com and we'll get you set up!
